As the daughter of an oceanographic researcher I learned a love and appreciation of the ocean and all of the gifts that it brings to us at a very young age. Walking hand in hand on the beaches of Southern California with my father, photographing all these little treasures that nature has given us, is among my fondest memories. Rewards came while we waited in the dark room for the pictures to develop...like waiting for a present...and the rewards continue each time I look at those photographs.
Most of my father's research was done off the coasts of Hawaii...so he brought me many tales of the exotic and aromatic flora and the drama of the seascapes of these tropical paradises. As an adult I have had the fortune of witnessing and photographing first hand the beauty of those tropical treasures. His love and joy of capturing many of these wonders on film became mine and has continued from the tropics through the "Deserts and Mountains of the Southwest" and in the majesty of the "Mountains of the Pacific Northwest", where I reside.
I have a passion for all of nature...great and small.... but it is sometimes the most intricate details of the smallest that are the most dramatic. It is my commitment to photograph nature as it is...using only "natural light".
I'm proud to share these gifts that nature has offered, in the form of "Fine Art Giclee Prints". |
